If you travel or live outside of Nebraska, you can access in-network doctors and hospitals through our national network, called BlueCard. Outside of the United States, you have access to care in nearly 200 countries and territories around the world.

Many health conditions can be prevented or detected early by making healthy lifestyle choices. Use these Preventive Health Guidelines to help maintain a healthy lifestyle. You should talk with your doctor about your specific health concerns and follow your doctor’s advice.
Routine preventive care is an important step to staying healthy and is generally covered at 100% by most of our health plans. Please note: A preventive care visit could potentially turn into a diagnostic visit should something be found which could lead to out-of-pocket expenses.
Nurse-Supported Programs
A holistic approach to better health that's free with your BCBSNE health plan.
With these, you work with a nurse care manager, either through our mobile health app or over the phone, to create a personalized plan.
Our nurses can help you:
- Achieve and maintain and healthy weight
- Manage high blood pressure and cholesterol
- Decrease blood sugar and A1C levels
- Reduce stress and identify triggers
- Manage pain
Preferred Centers
Employees of self-funded groups should check with their employer to see if this benefit is included in your health care plan.
BCBSNE will waive the deductible and coinsurance amounts* for the facility charges for the following surgeries performed at one of the Preferred Centers listed below:
- Dorsal and lumbar fusion (except for curvature of the back)
- Cervical spinal fusion and other back/neck procedures
- Total hip replacement
- Total knee replacement
*Qualified high-deductible health plans will only have the coinsurance waived.
