Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

DME claims must be filed to the plan in the state the equipment was shipped to or purchased in a retail store.  

Note: When billing as a DME supplier and submitting a POS 12 (Home), the claim should always be filed to the plan in the state where the patient resides. Equipment and/or supplies purchased in a retail store should be submitted with a POS 17 and filed to the plan in the state where the store is located.
