Traveling outside of Nebraska?
If you select a plan that does not cover services outside the state of Nebraska, you still have options. Emergency services and urgent care services are covered outside the state of Nebraska, so when you need care while traveling, you’ve got it.
BCBSNE also offers telehealth benefits, which can be used anywhere. BCBSNE offers telehealth services through Amwell, so you can access a nationwide network of U.S. board-certified physicians, available for live visits over the computer, tablet or phone, whenever you need them. Telehealth visits cost less than an emergency room, urgent care or even in-office doctor visits. Visit NebraskaBlue.com/Telehealth for more information.
Amwell is an independent company providing telehealth services for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska.
Health Savings Account (HSA) Eligible Plans
The Bronze HSA Eligible 6500 plan is a qualified high-deductible health plan which means you can pair it with a health savings account (HSA) to save and pay for qualified health care expenses. An HSA is an alternative way to pay for your qualified health care expenses and save for future qualified health care expenses on a tax-free basis. Funds in an HSA roll over each year, and the interest earned on the assets in your account are tax free. There are limits to the amount that can be contributed to your HSA as well as what you can use your HSA funds for. These limits depend on a variety of factors, and they typically increase each year. Visit IRS.gov for more information.
