Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) is an authorized Medicare Advantage Organization that contracts with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to offer Medicare Advantage plans in the senior market. BCBSNE offers HMO and PPO Medicare Advantage plans to Medicare-eligible Nebraska residents. BCBSNE Medicare Advantage plans provide at least the same level of benefit coverage as Original Medicare Part A and Part B and provide enhanced benefits beyond the scope of Original Medicare within a single health care plan. This flexibility allows BCBSNE to offer enriched plans by using Original Medicare as the base program and adding desired benefit options, including a Part D prescription drug benefit. Plus, there is a maximum limit to the annual out-of-pocket costs on the BCBSNE Medicare Advantage plans, so if the member develops a chronic illness or if they have a long hospital stay, there is a limit on the amount that the member is required to pay.
