Obstetrical Admissions

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska (BCBSNE) requires facilities to provide both admission and discharge information on deliveries via fax or phone. For all deliveries, the facility should notify BCBSNE one day after discharge. The following information must be provided:  

• Admission date, delivery date and discharge date
• Type of delivery  
• Whether the baby was born alive  
• Whether both mother and baby were discharged alive
