Critical Care Codes

Critical care services should be reported following AMA CPT Coding Guidelines. Add-on code 99292 must be performed by the same physician that is reporting 99291. Critical care codes apply only to professional services and are not applicable to facility services provided in the emergency department. Critical care codes will not be reimbursed when submitted on a UB04 claim.
