Dear Jill Iscol... UPDATED II

Jill Iscol one of Hillary’s long time supporters and currently
a member of her Campaign Finance team takes all Democrats to task
in her post on the Huffpo, telling us “How Dare you".

You can read it here.

Ok getting back to her rant..

No Jill, WE DON’T NEED TO TALK.

Here’s why, YOUR candidate Hillary threw down the gauntlet
to ALL Democrats when she started making negative comments about
Obama and positive ones about Sen. McCain.

The Hubris of your post is appalling, but not the least alarming
is all the reality you dismiss.

Grace under fire is something Hillary showed early in the campaign,
but with each major gaffe, each new Rovian tactic employed by Her and YOU
(since you are part of her campaign machine) caused the tearing of the
fabric of the Democratic party, And accordingly women, men and blacks
abandoned your candidate in droves.

The ineviatability of Hillary died the day she went negative on
her fellow Democrats.

And yet you think we and the party should have just turned the other
cheek and not care that she threw a lot of her fellow Democrats under the bus
during this campaign?

Not to mention the fact that she said publically Only big states matter,
and Caucuses don’t matter.

You and your candidate have run a scorched earth campaign, and NOW you want to play
the victim card again? I don’t think so. You are reaping what you sowed.

Your statement that it’s not over till the lady in the pant suit says it is, is entirely laughable, and divorced from reality. It is over when one candidate has enough delegates
to become the national party candidate for president.

Until then you and Hillary can stand on the deck of the Titanic (Which is pretty much what her campaign has become) and rearrainge the deck chairs while the water flows up to your knees.

UPDATE..

Florida court throws out suit against DNC

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/5/28/121143/922/613/524161

A Florida court threw out a lawsuit Wednesday challenging the Democratic Party’s decision not to seat delegates from Florida — as litigants prepared to appeal the case to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Political consultant Victor DiMaio and his lawyer Michael Steinberg had compared the party’s decision to earlier prohibitions against allowing African-Americans to vote and invoked the trauma of the Florida recount in the 2000 contest between Al Gore and George W. Bush, both arguments also used by Hillary Clinton to support the seating of the state’s delegates

Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean says the situations are not comparable.

“You cannot violate the rules of the process and then expect to get forgiven for it,” he said.

Judge Richard Lazzara sided with the party, saying that this was not a civil rights issue, the parties have the right to make their own rules.

This is the second such suit that has been brought in FL, Sen. Bill Nelson and Rep. Alcee Hastings brougth suit earlier, which was also thrown out, on the same grounds.

Meanwhile, Clinton supporters heads are exploding.

UPDATE II

Note this back story on the whole damn mess - which is ENTIRELY being promoted by HILLARY.

Last August, when the DNC Rules Committee voted to strip Florida (and Michigan, if it persisted in clinging to its date) of its delegates, the Clinton delegates on the committee backed those sanctions. All 12 Clinton supporters on the committee supported the penalties. (The only member of the committee to vote against them was an Obama supporter from Florida.) Harold Ickes, a committee member, leading Clinton strategist and acknowledged master of the political game, said, “This committee feels very strongly that the rules ought to be enforced.” Patty Solis Doyle, then Clinton’s campaign manager, further affirmed the decision. “We believe Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina play a unique and special role in the nominating process,” she said, referring to the four states that the committee authorized to hold the first contests. “And we believe the DNC’s rules and its calendar provide the necessary structure to respect and honor that role. Thus, we will be signing the pledge to adhere to the DNC-approved nominating calendar.”

Notes and related comments from this…

Why is Hillary still in it? Frankly, I think she isn’t. I think that it this point the battle is between the DNC and the DLC, the “50 state” new way, and the old guard…the Dems who have been willing to knuckle to big business, and those who are beholden only to the voters.

I don’t think the DLC folks will tolerate submission. I think they feel they MUST go to the convention, even if that means the Clinton legacy is forever tarnished.

When does Hillary Clinton figure out she’s being used?

—————————————————————-

The Democratic Leadership Council is an idea center, catalyst, and national voice for a reform movement that is reshaping American politics by moving it beyond the old left-right debate.

Founded by (among others) Bill Clinton is the “right wing of the Democratic Party, the business-friendly wing, represented by folks like Harold Ford, Jr. They represent very different positions than the Dean folks; in fact, they hate him with a passion. Dean’s election to leadership in the DNC was anathema, and they are all out to prove he was wrong (despite the fact that his 50 state strategy is working.)

Surprised you are not aware of this very powerful internal dynamic. That’s what the war is all about right now.

———————————————————————-

That the Clinton’s are out to undermine Howard Dean and his 50-state strategy and that Obama used it to win the nomination is absolutely galling them. And they must take the power of the DNC (and the rules) away from Dean and his surrogates, a/k/a Obama.

this is a war for the party. This is the most visible part of this war yet, and just one battle in a long line of battles. Lieberman’s ouster as a dem candidate in CT was one, the battle over several of our progressive candidates where they were ignored by the D.C. dems, the battle over funding for the Iraq war, the battle over judges, and now the battle of primaries.

They will not give up power easily, especially since bush has given the presidency so much power that Hillary and Bill would just love to have.

Feyangel at Huffpo has this take on Hillary -

I am female. I have been a “feminist” since I was a pre-teen. I have four grown successful daughters. I am a psychologist who focused on “women’s issues” for years. I don’t think the issue is that Hillary has been slighted in any major way cos she is female. To me, she has simply not upheld nor represented feminine/feminist VALUES. She behaves like a typical aggressive, win-at-any-price, low-integrity male. I am frequently embarrassed by her words & behavior. She sure doesn’t represent the values I have always carried & stood for as a woman. This isn’t just about getting a female in the White House; it is about getting a PERSON who stands for Integrity, Honesty, Compassion, Peace, Intelligence, Global Awareness, Caring about PEOPLE, etc. in a position to lead us. To me, Obama stands for that much better than Hillary.

Tthe feminist movement is NOT just about honoring the Vagina– it is about honoring the VALUES and WAY OF BEING that many/most women have stood for throughout their lives. It is about EMPOWERING those values and that way of BEING, & taking it out into the WORLD to create a society that honestly cares about and takes care of everyone. It is about using Power differently– using it for the Greater Good. To me, Hillary respresents & acts out of the MALE EGO -BASED model. The feminist model is HEART-based. Hillary may as well have a PENIS– cos she acts like one of “them.”

All of the above comments… well said.
