I’m putting this one on the main page even though it’s posted in Local Blue.

[More:]

Help us fight hunger by attending the first gathering of Drinking Liberally-Lincoln.
We will be meeting at Cliff’s Lounge on “O"Street at 7:00p.m. the 21st of January 2008.
Please bring a non parishable food donation that will be given to the Lincoln Food Bank.
Socialize with other progressives in the area while we provide help to the less fortunate in our community.

Hunger, has become one of the silent crisis’ of the last couple years. The government has reduced contributions to local food pantries’ by slashing the Farm Bill and the ability of the USDA to contribute to these organizations.

For some up to date information on the hunger crisis in American vist the following link:

Even though Lincoln, and Nebraska as a whole, is not specifically mentioned the need is evident in our community.

Hope to see you January 21st!
