Hagel, who considered running for the GOP presidential nomination as an antiwar candidate, told the foreign policy experts that he would give the Bush administration “the lowest grade of any I’ve known.”

“I have to say this is one of the most arrogant, incompetent administrations I’ve ever seen or ever read about,” Hagel said, according to our colleague Robert Kaiser, who attended the speech. In case his audience didn’t get the point, Hagel also said: “They have failed the country.”

Regarding Chuck Hagel -

I'm not a big fan of his. About 5 years ago I signed a petiton on HRC re: same sex marriage which was forwarded to NE senators. Chuck Hagel's office sent me a letter (at my home address) stating they didn't agree with/believe in equal rights for homosexuals/lesbians. Ok - whatever. Then.. about 2 weeks later I receive in the mail an invitation to join Chuckie's church and they promised to cast out the sin of homosexuality for all who attended.
Separation of church and state?
I never, ever gave ANYONE permission to send religious "offerings" to my personal, private home address. I applaud his "outing" Bush's bad behavior, but I will not ever vote for this man, much less trust him.

Agreed, There is plenty to not like about Hagel as there is with any politician.

However, sometimes he does the right thing.
